Hello friends!

My wife and I at our son’s wedding, September 2011

By way of annual exam, in 2010 I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer.  In 2011 I had successful robotic surgery and was headed down the road to recovery.  A few months later I was diagnosed with another, unrelated cancer, Multiple Myeloma.

I started letting some friends know through email what was going on.  With each update, the mailing list grew.  My son, Robin, suggested I create a blog instead of sending out emails. I’m not confident I know what a blog actually is, but here we go.

  1. It was great to see you at Athey Creek Fellowship…Keep up the good news on your health. Blessings to you, Rick and Jan

  2. I’m glad we met. I count you as family and will never forget what a blessing your presence was at our wedding (and thank you for the fantastic cd of pictures). You were so kind to open your home to us when we were out in Portland. I hope we’ll see each other again soon. God bless you and your family and please don’t be shy if there’s anything we can do to help. I had melanoma skin cancer in 2009 and I know what a scary word that can be. I still get to see plenty of doctors all the time so I can only imagine how tired of them you are. I will pray for peace and a recovery and hope for both! Thank you again for the light you’ve been in our life.

    1. Thanks, Meaghan. I’m glad I got to attend your wedding (how many years ago now?), and it was great when you visited here. I hope you will do that again. Thanks for the kind words and prayers.
